[Users] Problem installing super-freeswan-1.99.8 on 2.4.25

I'm trying to install super-freeswan-1.99.8 with kernel 2.4.25 using 'make menugo'. The kernel compilation fails as shown below, but I don't think it has _really_ failed, just that the string 'error' is detected in out.kbuild (as highlighted below). A kernel build of the same kernel outside of the FreeS/WAN environment builds correctly.

Is my hypothesis correct (that it fails because it detects the string 'error' in the output)? Is there a simple workaround?
