tar it off, untar it back on. I don't know of any tools to do that in a single stroke.

BTW, the crashes that I have experienced over the last 4 years or so, on good ol' reiserfs with NO corruption whatsoever are numerous (count in the hundreds!) xfs on the other hand has not been that good to me. Thankfully, I only keep my /usr/portage on it.
