I broke up the insertion calls as follows:

MYSQLPP_QUERY_THISPTR << std::setprecision(16) << "INSERT INTO ";  
MYSQLPP_QUERY_THISPTR << v.table() << " (";
MYSQLPP_QUERY_THISPTR << v.field_list() << ") VALUES (";
// It seg. faults on the following line
MYSQLPP_QUERY_THISPTR << v.value_list() << ')';
