Actually, I'm a Gentoo dev, too, and just bumped the package last week. However, the ebuild is not marked stable yet. That has to wait at least one month. mysql++-2.2.2-r1.ebuild: alpha amd64 hppa ~mips ppc sparc x86 mysql++-2.3.2.ebuild: ~alpha ~amd64 ~hppa ~mips ~ppc ~sparc ~x86 Daniel: You can use /etc/portage/package.keywords with an entry named "dev-db/mysql++" to install the newer version. However, your problem is related to missing include and library paths, which both aren't related to the ebuild.
Greets,
