Problems with replication after moving slave to new ip space

I have two servers running mysql> status

mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386)

I am replicating a single database and have been for over a year

I recently moved my slave server to a new location and ip space and have been unable to get replication working since.

I used mysqldump to update the database on the slave and removed all bin files from the master. I flushed hosts and logs on both servers.

I get the following error on the slave:

Error reading packet from server: Could not find first log (server_errno=65535)
070604 15:55:08 Slave: Failed reading log event, reconnecting to retry, log 'master-bin.124' position 12113
070604 15:55:09 Slave: reconnected to master
'nicrepl@master.nw.timeinc.com:3306',replication resumed in log
'master-bin.124' at position 12113

This file no longer exists and I can't seem to skip it on the slave startup....

I know the systems can communicate and the master.log file returns the following message:

070604 15:32:03 6178 Connect nicrepl@slave.nw.timeinc.com on
                   6178 Binlog Dump

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you need help?X
