Hi Mark
I think you exported db when Innodb enabled. So you follow the steps to
avoid losing the db datas.
- back the data folder for safer side. ( before take backup stop the mysql
service)
- convert the DB (if Innodb then to MYIsam -- make sure take the back up)
- then export the db with minimal settings
- create the db in mysql 5 ( no issue even innodb or mysql in 5)
- if you running the mysql 4 and 5 same machine stop the mysql 4 once you
export operation over, then import to mysql 5
