[Nagiosplug-help] Remote NRPE check_nt problem

From: Elmar Pigeaud <pigeaud(at)gmail.com>

Hello,
We have a remote server behind a firewall doing remote checks through check_nrpe. There is no problem running plugins, only when using check_nt with special characters.

For example a space in a servicename:

$ ./check_nrpe -H <remote firewall address> -c check_nt1 -a <serveraddress> SERVICESTATE 'McAfee GroupShield'
McAfee: Unknown

Servicenames without spaces work fine.
Also having problems with other characters (slashes etc). We tried double quotes, single quotes, escaping the chars.

Anyone have an idea how to do this? Other than a workaround where we have to create local commands for everything we want to check...

Thanks,

Elmar
