How to open Micrsoft's so-called Open XML Format

Just got an email today at work with an attached spreadsheet in Microsoft Office Open XML Format Spreadsheet format. I guess it's a combination of XML and ZIP technology that they are pushing to make an ISO standard document, claiming is is an "open" standard.

I'm running Ubuntu at work and I believe Microsoft Office 2007 is the only application that view these documents. Is there a way to view it with OpenOffice.org?
