Major Japanese firms won't pay off SCO
The biggest computer manufacturers in Japan that build systems running Linux will hold out against blustering by SCO to extract license fees based upon unsubstantiated infringement claims, it has emerged.
Industrial Linux monitors pipelines
Verano, which sells software for industrial infrastructure such as factories and power plants, has found a customer for its Linux product. Edmonton, Candada-based Enbridge will use Verano's Linux-based Industrial Defender Watch software to monitor the performance and security of its pipeline infrastructure, Verano said this week.
