Recently the Transaction Processing Performance Council listed a Sun 480 as the leader on the 100GB TPC/H benchmark. At that point the Sun machine running at 1.05GHz was shown narrowly beating a pair of 2.0 GHz Xeon servers from HP and Dell on both price and performance. Last week a new HP result using the 2.8GHz Xeon leapfrogged the Sun machine to re-take the lead.
