Mechanical Butterflies?
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/12/13/0423230

MImeKillEr writes "According to an [0]article on BBC News, two researchers from Oxford took highspeed photographs of an Admiral butterfly in a specially-designed windtunnel to study how butterflies fly. The resulting research brings insight into small-scale flight dynamics. Although the article doesn't give an ETA on this, they expect to be able to build an aircraft with a 10cm wingspan that will be either autonomous or radio controlled. This will allow them to be used in rescue missions, cave exploration and possibly even on Mars." Links

The few rules imposed on the entries are mainly sanity checks like "begin date is in the weekend". The act of entering a new leave entry sends an email to the group manager and a copy to the employee. The advantages of this electronic version over the paper version are: there is a single information location (no employee-card and mother-card discrepancies), questionable entries immediately draw the manager's attention (with email), and various up-to-date views of the leave history are available (total, year, and list). Verlof is a Dutch-only application and a little specific to Leiden University.

VisualRoute 7.0
http://freshmeat.net/releases/106346/

VisualRoute is a graphical Traceroute program that automatically analyzes Internet connectivity, and identifies the geographical location of IP addresses/routers, showing them on a global map. It includes an email tracking tool for troubleshooting email problems, and pop-up Whois information. The VisualRoute Server package allows access via a Web browser, so users may access Traceroute information from behind a firewall and from remote locations.

VServer 0.22
http://freshmeat.net/releases/106338/

Call Pantek today for Open Source Technical Support at 1-877-546-8934 - 24/7/365X

VServer virtual servers operate like a normal Linux server, but allow many independent servers to be run simultaneously in one box. These can involve normal services such as telnet, mail, Web, and SQL servers - in most cases using a standard configuration. The services are unaware of the virtual server concept. Each virtual server has its own user account database and root password. Each vserver uses standard packages and runs at the same speed as a non-VServer installation.

Webtop 1.25
http://freshmeat.net/releases/106325/

Webtop is a Web-based POP3 email client that includes many filter options, spam fighting features, custom folders, and email-to-PDF generation. The Webtop also includes a calendar, notepad, Webdrive, automated email reminders, contacts, and Web-based administration. One installation can support multiple users and each user can set up as many POP3 accounts as they need.

wmnetload 1.2 (Stable)
http://freshmeat.net/releases/106355/

wmnetload is a network interface monitor dockapp for Window Maker. It is designed to fit well with dockapps like wmcpuload and wmmemmon. It tracks whether the interface is functioning and displays current network interface throughput, along with an auto-scaling graph of recent network activity (the graph separates upstream and downstream traffic load cleanly without resorting to colors).

xmlto 0.0.12 (Stable)
http://freshmeat.net/releases/106352/

xmlto converts an XML file (DocBook or XSL-FO) into a specified format (PS, PDF, HTML, man, ASCII, XSL-FO, etc.) by applying an appropriate XSL-T stylesheet and then performing whatever post-processing is necessary.
