43 Million Americans Use P2P Software
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/06/09/0248242

robl writes "If the [0]NYTimes article is correct then somewhere around     1 in 6 Americans apparently are [1]unindicted felons. In the eyes of     the public file swapping is as morally wrong as speeding on the NJ     Turnpike. The rest of the article talks about the RIAA's     carrot/stick/education approach and how they may find themselves     entering into negotiations for some forms of file sharing. Also the EFF     will be running ads in Rolling Stone next month asking if enthusiasts     are tired of being treated like criminals." Links

Free versions     are available for both Windows and Linux, and they even publish their     source code for download. Solving it will get your name listed in their

Java/Script Alert: Cross-Platform Browser Vulnerability http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/06/08/239237

[0]Ant writes "Synopsis: Opera, Mozilla & Netscape with javascript
enabled are [1]vulnerable to remote command execution. This has been     tested on Microsoft, and many many Unices. Macintosh may also be vuln.     Ironically enough, IE is unaffected." Update: 06/08 23:56 GMT by [2]H:     The problem seems to be one in the Java security model itself; but the     evidence seems to be that if you turn off JavaScript, you turn off the     vulnerability. Update: 06/09 00:56 GMT by [3]T: According to this     followup message from Mozilla security group member Daniel Veditz, the     problem is actually one that's [4]already been fixed in Mozilla 1.3,     and not a remote command execution vulnerability at all. http://freshmeat.net/releases/125373/

The TT Web Site Manager is a general purpose database driven Web site     management system written in PHP, featuring support for multiple     database servers (MySQL is the default). It allows multiple Web sites     to be built and managed entirely on the fly from dynamic content stored     in a database. Pages can be assembled in any order from a library of     code items which can include a mixture of static HTML, SQL, and PHP.     There is no framework of templates or forms to constrain the coder, and     there is no limitation on content type, meaning that almost any content     can be served. This means that it can be used to quickly put together     content managed Web sites without the need for the limitations imposed     by a dedicated content management system.
