Rambus Destroyed Evidence In Anti-trust Trial http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/03/05/2152230

Marasmus writes "CNN is reporting that memory-chip maker [0]Rambus has     been found [1]guilty of destroying evidence which was 'critical' to the     anti-trust case brought by the U.S. government. Interestingly, the     Judge has denied the [2]FTC's request to move on to the penalty phase     of the trial. Destruction of evidence in an anti-trust case normally     yields a forfeiture of trial, but Rambus 'will have the burden of     proving its innocence" instead.'

What Fruits Will Reduced R&D Bear For The U.S.? http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/03/05/2023200

lucabrasi999 writes "Here's an interesting [0] commentary from Mike     Tarsala at CBS.Marketwatch.com regarding R&D spending by U.S. companies     as it compares to overseas firms. It compares today's US tech firms to     the Big Three Automakers of the 70's, while saying the overseas tech     firms are similar to the Toyotas and Hondas of the 70's. Toshiba To Show Laptop Fuel Cells at CeBit http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/03/05/196256

Do you need help?X

war3rd writes "According to [0]The Register, Toshiba has finally been     able to build a fuel cell for laptops that they will unveil at [1]CeBit     next week. The fuel cells are expected to last approximately 5 hours     and are compatible with existing lithium-ion batteries. Form factor     remains the only issue. The trick is that they use the water by-product     from the cell to dilute the methanol source as it enters the     [2]reformer, and are therefore able to store higher concentrations of     methanol in the cell. My only concern is how quickly can they get this     to market?"

Can the required Perl modules be installed in a     subdirectory of Slashcode? Any information or responses in the form of     comments to the above two questions is appreciated greatly. Thanks in     advance!
