Slashdot
chill writes "Where to begin? [0]OpenBSD Journal has a couple of update articles on the business of [1]DARPA cancelling POSSE and OpenBSD's grant. And [2]here is a message from Theo de Raadt, the OpenBSD big cheese, with a quote from a military spokesman. How does '...due to world events and the evolving threat posed by increasingly capable nation-states...' grab you? Does open source and freely available security support terrorism by its very nature?" Links

On a personal note, I'm happy we're giving Linux another shot, being a devout Gentoo user myself! (I should also point out that while the Linux section of the [3]website is kind of old and crusty, there should be more info on the new titles soon!)" Links

Strange New Keyboards and Mice
robyn217 writes "Over at ExtremeTech, I just reviewed [0]a few strange new keyboards--and they're pretty "out there". On Monday, we posted a review of a vertical keyboard (imagine a standard keyboard split in half, with both side vertical). Today we posted the review of something that doesn't even resemble a keyboard--it's a whole new system of input. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week, we'll be posting new reviews of strange, but interesting input devices." Links 0. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,1034116,00.asp

zemkai writes "From the "wtf?!?" department... [0]Universal Music Group and EMI are suing Hummer Winblad Ventures for contributing to copyright infringement due to that firm's investment in Napster... Her take on things: our users feel threatened. We're responding to their concerns. AOL lawyers said it's ok, so the Mozilla team isn't interested in negotiating, but that's ok because we've gotten a lot of publicity and name recognition. And no, we don't plan on going to court." As always, a small group of users are being real asses about the whole thing. Yay. Links 0. http://www.mozillazine.org/articles/article3097.html
Linux Gaming after Loki
mahdi13 writes "[0]Linux Hardware has a great story about the past,
present and future of [1]Linux Gaming in 2003. They briefly touch on
the commercial games available and what will be available for Linux in
the near future. It is a good read and contains excellent information
to keep the Linux Gamers satisfied with what is commercially
available."

How to install Linux
Ease the pain of installing a new Linux distribution, both on a standalone PC and alongside an existing Windows installation.
Gaming and Linux in 2003
It is no secret that the vast majority of current game titles will never see the light of day on Linux. With Loki dead and gone, and their old stock quickly running out, some would go as far as to say that Linux gaming is dead as well.
Legislating Open Source
One of the biggest obstacles to deployment of open source is sheer inertia: One reason that a government agency might choose not to deploy it is simple laziness on the part of its IT professionals and decision makers. Sage, IBM partner for Linux BMS delivery http://linux.com/article.pl?sid=03/04/22/1644227 In one of the strongest endorsements of Linux as a viable mid-range business platform to date, Sage and IBM have inked an Africa-wide agreement to deliver Sage's business management solutions (BMS) on IBM's Linux-running hardware.Sage is one the largest supplier of BMS and related products and services to small to medium businesses (SMBs) in the world. As such, this news is significant in a number of ways.
