    XmlBlaster 0.80 has been released. XmlBlaster is a publish/subscribe     and point-to-point MOM server (message-oriented middleware) that     exchanges messages between publishers and subscribers. The message is     described with XML-encoded meta information. Messages may contain     anyything, including GIF images, Java objects, Python scripts, XML     data, a word document, and plain text. Communication with the server is     based on CORBA (using JacORB) or RMI or XML-RPC, clients are free to     choose their preferred protocol. Other protocols like email, socket or     SOAP may be plugged in.

    Altova announced that the new version of its XML editor, XMLSPY 5, now     includes a WSDL editor. It allows you to edit, view, visualize, and     validate any WSDL file.

    Wired reports: "Sun Microsystems said Thursday it will join rivals     Microsoft and IBM in developing a technical standard to make sure Web     services transactions are secure. Sun made the decision to join them on     the WS-Security Web Services specification after getting assurances     from them that they would not charge other companies to license any     technology associated with the specification, said Bill Smith, director     of Liberty Alliance technology for Sun."
