Wow!

Yesterday I did some houscleaning. Among other things, I moved an 80 Gbyte disk from a workstation to a server and put an older 30 Gbyte disk in the workstation. The BIOS in the server hanged on boot when the new drive was plugged in. I tried all sorts of things, changing master and slave settings, channel, cable--the usual. Eventually, I just disabled it in the BIOS to see if OpenBSD (3.2) would have any better luck. I should have done that first--it works like a charm.
