sparc/snapshot install bug

While installing from a snapshot today on sparc32, I got the following errors during the install process:

Extract more sets? [n]
Saving configuration files......done.
pwd_mkdb: cannot find `_shadow' in the group database, aborting Generating initial host.random file ......done.

...

You have selected timezone 'America//New_York'. Making all device nodes...chgrp: _lkm: invalid group name done.
Installing boot block...

This was on a pair of Sparc LX's, and happened on both machines, so I assume it isn't a fluke. Neither machine seems to be able to successfully authenticate root at the initial login after install. I'll boot off the network again and mount the drive and see if I can discern what happened.
