>Confidential: yes

	System : OpenBSD 3.3
	Architecture: OpenBSD.sparc64
	Machine : Sun Netra t1 105

>Description:
Kernel repeatedly reports a device timeout for fxp0, an Intel-branded i82557 in the one available PCI slot on a Netra t1 105 riser. The slot is supported as OpenBSD 3.3 is able to make use of a quad-hme card in the same unit. The i82557 card is supported by the Netra since it works properly in the same chassis running Debian. The card is supported properly in OpenBSD i386 on a variety of our firewalls. I see the hardware support list suggests that the i82556 is unsupported, but makes no mention of this chip. I have tried recompiling from CURRENT on 20030530 but see the same issue. Nothing that sounds like a fix is mentioned in the CURRENT changelog either and I see no other bugs reported for this. >How-To-Repeat:

Install OpenBSD 3.3 or CURRENT on a Sun Netra t1 105 and
try to use an i82557 fxp card in it. I can provide
network/console access to a machine for testing. I'd
like to donate an entire machine, but they're not mine
and my employer is a skinflint. I could probably donate
one of these Intel EtherExpress Pro cards however, if it
	would help.

>Fix:
Use a different network card.
