>Environment:

	System : OpenBSD 3.3
	Architecture: OpenBSD.i386
	Machine : i386

>Description:
I have a 3C900 PCI combo ethernet card (coax, AUI, twisted pair); the network connected is coax. The system is set up to set the media type for the xl driver to "10base2" after boot. This is also reflected in the ifconfig output. After the system has run a while, the media type displayed in ifconfig output changes to "10base2 (10baseT half-duplex)" and the network is not accessible anymore. (No ping, tcpdump, etc., as if the cable was disconnected)
>How-To-Repeat:
The problem happens spontaneously on my system (there is some network activity, but I am not aware of anything I trigger actively). All I have to do is wait max. a few hours. It could also be a problem of the hardware, I don't have an identical replacement card to check. If anyone wants more information, my email is
>Fix:
When I do "ifconfig xl0 media 10base2" there is no effect. The problem can be fixed by the two steps: ifconfig xl0 media 10baseT ifconfig xl0 media 10base2
