How about giving us the output from ifconfig -a on the OpenBSD box and on the OSX box.

My guess: either one card is set for half duplex the other for full duplex, or one is running at 10 and one at 100mbps.

Could also be an NFS window size mismatch, but first I would check the settings on the network cards.
