Looked this over and I think you have hit on a great idea.
Every OpenBSD box will become part of a giant, self-inflicted
Distributed denial of service "attack" against the open relay machine.
Even a well connected machine can be impacted if the number of boxes
using this approach gets big enough. I wonder if you could do anything
useful by turning the connection around and sending a gift to
postmaster? Don't remember all of the rules for that part of the
protocol.
I wonder about the stutter. I know that the "tar pit" idea is pretty
well known but I don't know if your approach may be better off by
getting them in and out fast. I know the process is light-weight but a
large Spam volume could still keep your box busy when it does not need
to be. Will have to give this some thought.
