Changed to fixed (100baseTX, full-duplex) at the server end, but no change. No did I expect it as this identical setup did work with 2.9 (I even transferred the hostname.fxp? files unchanged from the old server)

I do not see any mbuf related error messages - do you think that increasing NMBCLUSTERS to 8192 (as indicated in the FAQ) would help?
