Doesn't matter, if everything worked, SOMETHING should have been seen, even if "not configured"

One of two things:
1) The card is not compatable with your laptop. 2) The PCMCIA support for your laptop is imperfect...

It looks like (from your dmesg) your PCCard (PCMCIA) chipset is supported and at least semi-functional. If it works with other devices, you probably have problem #1 above, if it doesn't work with other devices, problem #2. Could have both, actually...
