I don't think the developers will ignore a reproducible bug just because you're under VMWare. If you find a bug in an application, then they'll prioritize and fix it. If you find a bug in a driver that's only reproducible under VMWare, they'll fix it as soon as someone who wants OpenBSD to work under VMWare wants to fix it.
