Take a look in ports. ISTR that there's a port for VMWare 2.0 that may provide some clues to getting 3.0 working. It'd be the Linux version you'd be running in binary emulation mode, I believe.

Search misc@ and ports@ because I think VMW 3.0 on OpenBSD came up a little while back.
