Re: /dev/sound - device not configured

Sorry, I should have written more about my PC. It has a A7V8X mainboard with an AC97 sound chip on it (which works under Windows). It doesn't work under OpenBSD 3.2 nor -current and I have to diable auvia in the boot> editor because the PC hangs otherwise.

But my question is actually not about the problems with that sound chip, because I've disabled it anyway.

My question is if anyone knows what does it mean, when KDE says "/dev/sound - device not configured"? Because I do have /dev/sound and I thought it is coming from the speaker in my kernel -

BTW, if someone of developers wants to fix the Broadcom BMC 4401 or AC97 drivers on my A7V8X, I'll gladly provide access with a serial console and will reboot the PC for you.

Regards
Alex
