Could you please take out ot the tar.gz file any files directly under /usr/ports/mystuff?

This would be of great help as mystuff is the place for local experiments etc. Your archive can not be merged to an existing mystuff Folder if it contains a Makefile. It overwrites previous contents...

Maybe rename your Makefile to Makefile.gnome?
