True, but null mounts work quite nicely for this purpose. I'm a fan of
things installing in LOCALBASE, but I can patch my ports tree to get this
behavior quite easily if installing in /var/www is what is decided upon.

/usr/local/libdata/perl5 on /var/www/usr/local/libdata/perl5 type null (local, read-only)
