Thank you, this is one issue we'll face after OpenBSD 3.3, e.g., when we have integrated XFree 4.3.

In the meantime, let me remind you people that it is quite possible to run an XFree 4.3 server with XFree 4.2.* libraries.

Since the interface to a few things changed in the 4.3 update, this might be a cool way to run whatever gfx card you've got that isn't supported yet... well, there are a few OpenBSD specific diffs which are not in XFree 4.3 proper, but this won't hinder most of you.

(actually, I run into one such myself, since ATI radeon drivers don't switch back to tty mode correctly without a patch). Received on Sun Mar 23 07:34:05 2003
