I'd like to suggest that the net/pdnsd port be marked as BROKEN because there are known issues with it and, unfortunately, the mainstream is not maintained anymore.

The author of pdnsd recommends applying patches from Paul A. Rombouts discussed in http://www.phys.uu.nl/~rombouts/pdnsd/README.par

I have no time to look at those patches and roll a port update now. If someone uses pdnsd and would desperately like to see the port updated soon, please contact me.
