There is a problem somewhere in ORBit2 or bonobo-activation that causes it to segfault. Once bonobo-activation dies, nothing that uses it (i.e.: most of Gnome 2) can run successfully.

I suspect an endian issue but I'm currently at a loss as to where/how. I look at it every so often when I want to be really frustrated. If you care, read the bugzilla saga and then take a look for yourself. Free beers to whomever can fix it.
