does php4-xslt-4.3.3 work for anyone?

I am using the latest snapshot, and trying to get php4-xslt-4.3.3 to work. First of all, it doesn't detect encoding support in sablotron when its building, so it disables it, making functions like xslt_set_encoding() not be part of the xslt.so. This I was able to fix by adding -lreadline -lncurses to the configure script for php4/extensions where its trying to detect encoding support.

The real problem however, is even before I messed with it, it was causing apache to seg fault. It seems calling xslt_process() gives me a bunch of:

in the apache error_log. Oh yeah, i386 stock apache, and php from the latest ports cvs. Here's a list of packages installed in case that helps at all.
