tl hangs - tcpdump fix it!
Hi.
I have 2-port thunderLan network card. One of the ports (tl1)
sometimes hungs (for now - 3 times). Hosts in network attached
to this interface couldn't even ping its ip. Every
time "tcpdump -ni tl1" helped (!). It seems putting interface in
promiscous mode fix it...
My box is OpenBSD 3.1. When I was searching changelog 3.1->3.2 I
noticed only one message related to tl driver:
Work around tl(4)'s broken multicast filter. But I don't think
this is the problem source.
I have set priority queuing on tl1, nat on tl0 and filters on
both.
Is this a known problem? What should I do? Add tcpdump to cron?
Or maybe there is more elegant solution?
