What platform is this (i386, sparc, sparc64, alpha, macppc, etc) and
when did you you last do a successful build? There were ctype.h
issues for a while on certain platforms.
Try rebuliding and reinstalling make with the updated ctype.h and
see if the problems remains. There was also a transient problem
with bc/dc if obj dirs/links were not used but if your source tree
really is current that shouldn't be an issue.
