question about init

hello,

i'm trying to setup a complete openbsd3.2 setup in ram.. using a generic kernel with ramdisk support
the ramdisk filesystem i use is a slightly modifed version of the one that is created for the ramdisk_cd kernel

my problem is that the init supplied with fs only seems to want to boot in single user mode and execute /.profile while i need is multiuser mode and that it executes /etc/rc i've tried putting the init program from my normal openbsd3.2 install on the fs, but that keeps giving me the error: init already running and tries to(and fail) give a a shell..

can anyone explain me how i could get a working init in this situation.. or maybe tell me what i might be doing wrong ?

tia,
