Right, it is a bug. The problem is ld creating the executable ld.so with an unresolved symbol (_va_copy). This symbol is defined by the newer libc but not by the 3.2 release one.

Double checked it on another system. Get a 3.2 release, install the source and directly compile in gnu/usr.bin/ld/rtld. You'll get a warning "ld: Cannot reduce symbol..." which leads to the bug.
