A driver for i830M

Hi,

I'm trying to bring X11 to my laptop (an Asus M2400) which has an i830M graphics chip - which seems to be (partially) unsupported. I've found the PCI id (PCI_PRODUCT_INTEL_82830MP_IV) and that's also what dmesg reports (I'm running the snapshot from feb, 25th):

"Intel 82830MP Integrated Video" rev 0x00 at pci0 dev 2 function 1 not
configured

How can I find out why exactly it reports 'not configured' (so, what I should add to which driver/config)?

In addition, I've tried to add the functionality for the i830M chip to agp_i810.c, agpreg.h as I've found it in NetBSD (I assume it's working for them) but pci_conf_read(...) seems to return 0 although it reports the PCI_PRODUCT(...) correctly. So may this be the same problem as described above?

Can anybody show me where I have to add the device? Or, has anybody ever looked at the i830M implementation?

Oh, and I'm doing this because X just blanks the screen forever, things like
"Option NoDDC" don't help.

Thanks very much,

Do you need help?X

Bengt

ps:
