it's ssslllloooowwwww. you can always try out http://srm.sourceforge.net/. it segfaults on openbsd, but works fine under linux. then you'll see what i mean.

if i were serious about this, i'd hack unlink(), either in libc or the kernel, so that the overwriting would be done in the background (switched on maybe by an ENV variable). Received on Wed Mar 26 19:16:04 2003
