Re: SOCKS5 + LDAP Auth (2)

Hello,

    let me shortly react:

    Dan Jones and William Yodlowsky recommended articles regarding NOT "How to simulate PAM_LDAP to a Linux application that has nothing to do with local user accounts on the server," but "How to authenticate local accounts more-or-less OpenBSD native way," which is not my case.

    Ark just dehonested DANTE without suggesting anything else, just noting that NEC is better - that is quite surprising to hear from OpenBSD people, as there are well-known holes in NEC that were never corrected (that's exactly why I had to move from NEC to DANTE). http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/5149

    With all respect to the community, this is not way too motivating for me to move my security from Linux to OBSD.

    Does anybody has some better advice, please?

Ivan Dolezal

Do you need help?X

PS: I am also surprised that noone bothered to point out that SOCKS5 protocol (sending cleartext password via Net) was a kind of security hole itself. Received on Tue Jun 24 12:10:06 2003
