3D hardware acceleration

hello...

i'm new to openbsd, but i have already recompiled the whole system from CVS sources and have updated to XFree86 4.3.0

OpenBSD is just as i wish my operating system has to be.

the only thing i'm missing is the 3d hardware acceleration. i have a 3dfx voodoo3 2000 pci card and i'd like to have hardware acceleration with it.

searching dejanews i found some interesting mails.

the first one looks like this:

> OpenBSD currently doesn't have accelerated 3D support. It's lacking
> support for the kernel side of the XFree86 Direct Rendering
> Architecture.

is's from 2002-05-25.

Do you need help?X

the next one i found says something different:

> On the other hand, working is progressing slowly to get DRI (XFree86 4.x
> driect rendering architecture) working on OpenBSD. Be patient

it's from 2000-09-04

now my question: how is the state of hardware acceleration / DRI ?

i will try to survive without it if it isn't, but it would be nice if it was.

see you
oenone
