First off, this bug report is incomplete. You should *ALWAYS* include the entire dmesg when posting something like this.

For example, I need to know if this is attaching as SCSI or ATAPI. If it's one, you may want to try to force it to attach as the other. Do that first, and let me know where it gets you.
