RE: Unknown Windows 2000 files?

I searched Google and one site shows "bmonitor" as a Perl script... cch.loria.fr/LSF/bmonitor/ (use the translated version) http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://cch.loria.fr/LSF/ bmonitor/&prev=/search%3Fq%3DBMonitor%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3D UTF-8 Don't know if that's any help.

I also found the bmss.exe showing up on a "sample server health report" @ http://new.inetc.net/Products/DedicatedServers/HealthCheck/sample.htm... not any real help.

If bmss.exe IS the "BMonitor Session Manager" from Microsoft, it makes me think of Compaq's SNMP software... I think it's called "Insight Manager" or something like that... which leads me to believe bmss.exe could be a proprietary program. Try to search the manufacturer sites of your server's components. It might be BMonitor Session Manager FOR Microsoft.

What port was opened up?
