Without knowing more about your network and hosts (and whether this is RFC-1256 route discovery), I'd say take a look at the following registry key:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key:
System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\[Interface Name] Value Name: PerformRouterDiscovery
Type: REG_DWORD

Valid Range: 0, 1, 2

0 (disabled)
1 (enabled)
2 (enable only if DHCP sends the router discover option)

Default: 2, DHCP-controlled but off by default.

You can try setting this to 0 on the Win2000 machines and see if this solves your problems.
