RE: Monitor Services on Windows machines

To support the possibilities of the Event Viewer, I can suggest "What's Up (http://www.ipswitch.com/Products/network-management.html)" from Ipswitch, Inc. (http://www.ipswitch.com/).

There you can not only monitor NT services but automatically restart in the case someone has stopped them (or if they are not available anymore for other reasons). This last possibility even exists in dependance on other services/servers.

supposed to.

Service startup and shutdown are recorded in the event logs, and if you have appropriate rights you can just load the event logs remotely into Event Viewer.
