Administrivia: Results

Well, it looks like the general consensus is that if ads will help to
ensure the list sticking around, most people are for it. I'd say that
about 99 percent of those who replied were in favour, and I'm guessing
that those who didn't respond at all were indiferrent. Thanks to those
who took the time to send me their feedback, both positive and negative.
Just to address a couple of the most common concerns people had:
The ads will be in plain text with a hyperlink to the advertiser's website. As far as I know, there will not be any banner ads, HTML, or scripts.
No, we will not be advertising Viagra or any naughty web cams or things of that sort. The advertisements will be IT related, hopefully security related, and ideally MS security related.
As a side note, you'll also notice that I'm going to start sending messages to the list when new articles are posted to the MS focus area of the website. They'll be simple short messages with the name of the article, a brief one paragraph synopsis, and the url. I think these articles are of general interest to the group since I usually pull a lot of the topics from discussions on this list (and many of the authors are regular contributors here).
