RE: how broken are antivirus products?
Your experience would seem to contradict what they told me at the AVAR
conference in Hong Kong in December of last year - that they now reveal all
they know about a virus, even if they do not have a cure for it.
We are trying to increase the cooperation level amongst vendors and
customers via the AVI-EWS by putting them together to discuss new malware
as soon as it is spotted. Most major AV companies are participants and
we've seen some information exchanges. Sounds like there is still a need to
elevate this to a higher level.
