RE: Invircible AntiVirus

I had a large customer using it for several years, whose CIO swore by it. He believe it to be so good that they had never had a virus across the company. However due to Invircible's method of keeping a CRC of each file on each computer, and alerting when one changes, they had never kwonlingly had a virus stopped by invircible either. I couldn't quite cope with a product that had no pattern/program updates, and no alerting of viruses. All it ever said was file so-and-so had changed, do you want to update the list. Since this happened all the time for legitimate reasons, users simply said yes anyway. Eventually they had a real problem, and I installed Trend Officescan on a few computers, found numerous viruses everywhere. The CIO was a bit speechless, and Officescan went out on all of them, and found many more viruses.

I realise that the catch-up method of continual pattern and engine updates is not ideal, but neither is this product.

Would anyone know if there have been any reviews or any comparisons which involve Invircible AntiVirus? I haven't previously seen this product but have come across it a number of times in the last couple of weeks.

I have looked around but the only review/whitepaper I could find was from 1996 (Vircing the Invircible).

Thanks
