Virus author profiling

Is there anything about Mr. Hruska or his background that gives him the skills necessary to perform profiling? I'm not saying that I disagree entirely, but simply looking at the DC sniper case, we can see how dangerous it can be to operate on misconceptions and assumptions. And in that case, the profilers were professionals, w/ background and training. Mr. Hruska is a CEO.
