His personal credentials for doing the profiling may or may not be relevant. However, they interviewed him because he's the CEO of an anti-virus firm. More than likely, they told him ahead of time what they were interested in, his staffed prepared the statsitics, and he recited them to the interviewer.

The thing to remember about profiling is that it is percentages and guesses. The idea is to narrow your search and to try to gain insight into your target, but no one claims that it's an exact science, nor does anyone claim there are not exceptions to the profile.
