RE: GroupWise vs Exchange- More and more viruses use the built-in SMTP engine, so they don't
depend on Outlook client.
- Many email viruses no longer depend on Outlook address book ether,
they use file scanning techniques to gather email addresses.
- Email is not an only option for virus propagation, P2P and file
shares are another common options for virus propagation.
All of these make no difference which email server is used.
Viruses can propagate with GroupWise or Exchange unless proper antiviral
software is in place.
